"New" posts in forum - bug?

    Hello, there is one bug annoying me regarding forum - this small yellow box with a number of "new" posts visible on http://www.giderosmobile.com/forum/discussions after logging in. It reads like 12 comments 12 new, while it should read something like 12 comments 1 new. It annoys me when I mark all comments as read, and then someone posts a comment to a long thread, and I am notified that there is "30 new" posts, while only 1 in really new.

    Also a request: can I see only threads which have unread posts (by me)? I know every thread is tagged, but sometimes I have scroll thru many already read threads (and changing pages) only to see one thread with unread posts.

    Hmm again this problem.

    I use opera on windows, and I have all posts order by new ones. Meaning the posts with new comments are first.

    I remember someone other had same problem as you, just don't how's it's related and why it's happening. There are no configuration in account to do that kind of sorting. Maybe trying another browser will help?

    Oh, I see, the forum logic is implemented in JS, executed by the client browser... Quite unusual... I was using chromium on linux. I guess it would be quite a task to support all browser/os/JS implementations to get it fixed. Let's forget it then...

    Already sent. I do notice that for this particular thread (started by me) I got correct number (1 new out of 5 posts), but at the same time wrong number for other threads.

    I get the correct number all the time unless i come in from the main gideros page. It then doesn't recognize that i'm logged in and shows the 12/12 type count.

    I just got the same bug on Android ICS / Dolphin browser running on HP Touchpad. So maybe it depends not on a browser, but on my account settings in this forum?

    Probably not, your settings are default. I'm trying to investigate this issue.

    It's certainly not Linux / Chrome only, I'm having the same on Safari / Mac.

    The key seems to be the Mark All Viewed, if I remember correctly manually going through all "new" discussions doesn't give the issue, it's just my impression though

    No, I tried both: Mark All Viewed, and going through all threads. And still getting the same bug. Other "non-standard" actions on my account were to "star" (bookmark) some threads, so maybe this changed something.

    I don't know if anything has changed on the server, but as of now it works as it should be - I get "real" numbers. Let see if it persists...
