2012.2.3 Async Texture loading

Hi All.

First of all I am very impressed so far with gideros!
Do you have an eta on the next sub version with the Async texture loading? This would be a great asset to my project right now

I really wanted to implement Async Texture loading for this version but unfortunately I had to postpone it to future release.

Mmm..after talking to the team they made a good point.

The release date for our game will be early November, and I have to be honest after more tests this is a little bit of a show stopper, however, we really want to use Gideros if possible as it is extremely impressive everywhere else.

So the question is, is it possible (or planned) to either implement async loading or really optimise the texture loading routine within the next 2 months, which would give us time to test the implementation.

Sorry to keep pushing this issue but it is going to have to be a major influence in the decision making process.

Async texture loading is one the features I want to implement as soon as possible.
Most probably it will be available within the next 2 months. But I also try to avoid giving words about time estimation and upcoming features

Hi Aitlim, I fully understand on not give solid targets.
It was just an idea to help make the decision.

I am sure if its one of the priority features then it is probably an option for us to continue with Gideros as we have at least 4 months till release.

I have to say that I am also rather disappointed about the delay in async texture loading being added. I do think that if you have a road map then it should be relatively solid since developers will no doubt make plans based on it.

It's still in our roadmap but we haven't got any progress yet.
