What is your favorite game/programming blog? What do you read online? Ever attended GDC or Casual connect? What do you think about them?

Especially, I wonder if anyone attended GDC China before. It is this November

    Any ideas?

  • Thanks for the feedback! I looked into vietgame.dev.net from your facebook status I think. Did not understand a word but looks quite interesting. Any word about Gideros there?:P
  • Yes, of course.
I mentioned Gideros in a thread discussing game engines for mobile, and posted the link to the interview there :p

A few weeks ago a member there chatted with me saying that he was learning Gideros and Lua, and he really liked it. I asked him to write an article introducing Gideros, he said he would after his examinations (he's still a student) :D

Ah, regarding Casual Connect a few months ago it was held in Singapore, I intended to go there but finally didn't. I don't have much money for the trip :-|

  • Wow, that's great news! Very glad to hear that, thanks.

We have been to Casual Connect Hamburg, which was fun. But not so many indie developers there I suspect. And these events costs too much
  • Ok, here you go, part 1 :D

  • I wish I could understand:)
  • Looks great! (are you also running Gideros Studio on Linux?)
  • I sometimes read hackernews and reddit/programming and they sometimes link to game articles. I haven't really found a good source of game articles that are really relevant to me though.

I attend WWDC almost every year and it isn't gaming focused but since iOS they at least discuss their game centered technologies. I attended last week and I went to TouchArcade's party, which was fun and I talked to a few people.

@atilim: No, I use a Macbook, and Rickyngk uses a Windows laptop :)

@Magnusviri: TouchArcade party? Cool. Do you have any interesting thing to share? :)

  • I didn't really do much at the party but talk to some developers who were releasing a game and stare at some iPhone controled spheros balls that the devs were showing off but that people kept kicking on accident. It was really noisy and crowded. Oh I talked to a guy at HeyZap about Gideros. And I was mainly babysitting my coworker who I thought was getting drunk (turned out he didn't have that many drinks) and so I was the "designated walker" (did you know that more people get injured walking home drunk than driving home drunk?... It's probably because not that many people drive home drunk but a lot walk?... IDK).
