I keep getting this error in my HTC Wildfire.

05-25 06:56:56.162: E/libEGL(6802): called unimplemented OpenGL ES API

Apparently this error occurs when OpenGL2.0 is not supported according to this link http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5926316/android-gles20-called-unimplemented-opengl-es-api.

Is that the reason? The app runs but I think some elements do not run.
For instance, a text field was not displayed. But a button was displayed.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a limitation?

OK! It seems openGL ES 2.0 was available only in 2.2+ devices.

So the next question is, Which are the features which won't be available for OpenGL ES 1.0 and 1.1 devices? I mean, it is one thing if the application is incompatible, but another thing if half of the features don't display.

Currently we're using only OpenGL ES 1.1 and wait for 2.0 to dominate the market: http://developer.android.com/resources/dashboard/opengl.html

I've done some research about HTC Wildfire and found these: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7020324/what-version-of-opengl-does-htc-wildfire-support It seems HTC Wildfire doesn't have an GPU and have only the software implementation of OpenGL ES 1.0.

Also now I'm adding the line

<uses-feature android:glEsVersion="0x00010001" />

to AndroidManifest.xml so that these old OpenGL ES 1.0 devices won't be any problem.

@Orlando Add line under Eclipse or any coders editor (even text editor) :-B

@Orlando :- this is a very old thread and most likely that line must be in manifest file currently.

so do you have eclipse and android sdk installed in your system?

if yes you need to import project in eclipse and then simply right click on that and you will be ready to run on your device assuming you had set option for allow non market apps and android debugging.(go to system settings ------> developer option -----> chk android debugging)

ohh yes if you are currently in development mode go with fxone's method so for now you dont need eclipse and android sdk
